Oregon, you gorgeous state, you.
The Pine Mill House proved to be a wonderful hidden gem in the absolute desolation that is Eastern Oregon. We were given a tour of the old building, a lesson in logging history, and a warning about the mosquitoes.
The owners, Roger and Shani, are truly passionate about the area and tried to convince us to stay another night. It was going to be 104° today and I had already lost a pint of blood to those little vampires, so…I wish them all the best, but we gotta git.
This morning the group experienced the various landscapes of The Beaver State from the high desert to the mountain lakes of the Cascades. Galloping antelope, swarms of grasshoppers, and the mere mention of “Graceland” were just a few things that got the car fired up…for better or worse…
We press on toward the Pacific Ocean…Bandon, OR.
An old college professor of mine is kind enough to host us for the next few days as I show these Oregon virgins what it means to “Cowboy Up”.
More to come…!
And a special shout-out to Kelsi Haylett Calaycay, Gina Gailis Shanahan, and Izzy Ayola, who all went out of their way to come see us in Idaho!
Meant the world to me.
